Second Ear Infection...sort of

Noah has been extremely cranky the last 2 days unless he is sleeping or has Tylenol. He cries if you hold him, he cries if he's laying down, he cries if he's playing, and I had finally had enough and called the doctor. He has been running a low grade fever off and on for a couple days now but nothing points to teething right now. He has his hands in his mouth, but he doesn't chew on anything. He just wants to suck on stuff and lick things...no chewing. He has had a runny nose and some thicker snot every once in a while so I thought with his crankiness he probably should be checked out. The doctor said that his ears don't look the same. One is fine, and the other one isn't quite infected. She said when you have fluid build up behind the ear drum, it will make it kind of wrinkly...kind of like you would get in the bath or something. She said it just doesn't look "normal" and normally with the other signs he's been having, within another day, he would probably have a full blown ear infection so she put him on an antibiotic. She did say that with his ear being the way it is, it is enough to cause him some discomfort and would cause him to be fussy. So, hopefully when he wakes up and after his first does of meds he will be back to normal by tomorrow...hopefully! He will eat his food, but he doesn't really want anything to do with the bottle. Last night I gave him the bottle before his food and then again after his food and he took more of it that way. He went to bed and then woke up an hour later screaming, which I thought the cat woke him up, but I'm not really sure. It could have been, and I just didn't realize it, but it could have been him in pain too. I haven't been able to get much done around the house lately because of his fits and stuff. He cried himself to sleep last night because he wouldn't do anything but cry. He was exhausted, but wouldn't go to sleep and it was 11:00 and we were more than ready for bed, so he went to bed too. He only cried for a few minutes and then was out and I had to wake him up this morning to take Leon to preschool. Then, he ate and sat in the swing while I showered and from then on it was nothing but crying. I tried giving him another bottle before heading to the doctor, but he just cried and then I gave him some Tylenol and once we were in the car, he was out. He was fine at the doctor til it was time to go and then it was crying again, until he fell asleep in the car, and he is still asleep. I'm not waking him up either if I don't have to! I'll get more done around the house that way. :) Hopefully he will cooperate enough tonight and I can get some pictures posted...but we will see.
