Ear Infection...please go away...
Noah's last dose of his antibiotic was Friday morning. All day Thursday, he kept drinking less and less from his bottle. Friday he was extremely cranky and irritable all day long. He stopped eating. The most I could get him to take from a bottle all day long was about 1/2 an ounce. I called and left a message at his pediatrician's office, but most Friday afternoons, there isn't a doctor there. By 4:00 I decided I was going to take him to Immediate Care to have his ears checked again. I took him to his followup appointment at his neurosurgeon on Tuesday and they looked at his ear that was infected and they said it was normal again, nice and pretty like it should be. :) I didn't think much of it, finished his antibiotic and then Friday it was already getting pink again, so he was getting another ear infection in the SAME EAR! So, immediate care put him on the exact same thing he was already on, same dosage, and strength and everything. I'm taking him to his pediatrician tomorrow because he still will not hardly eat anything, and I think his antibiotic needs to be changed. It's not working in my opinion. At least it's keeping him fairly comfortable until he goes back. He's still cranky off and on and won't really eat much of anything. He did take 4 oz today before he started crying, but he also had some Tylenol in him that hadn't worn off. When it's worn off, he won't take but an ounce or so. He wants more, but when he sucks he arches back and cries like it hurts. We put the feeding tube down again. It stinks because every time he starts to take a whole bottle, he comes down with an ear infection and it takes a couple days to get him back on track again. Other than that he's perfectly healthy!
Leon starts soccer practice on Tuesday. I can't wait...he's so excited too! I'm going to try to remember to take the camera with me and take some pictures. Games start in a few weeks so I will definitely have some pictures by then! More updates tomorrow after the doctor.
