6 Months old
Noah had his 6 month well baby checkup on Friday. He got 5 vaccines total...but not 5 pokes! He did really well with his shots though. He didn't cry until the second one and then once she quit touching him he quit crying. He's such a good baby! Noah weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz just like he did on the day before. They had him at 25 1/4 inches long. He's doing great and is in the 25th percentile for weight, height, and head circumference. He is allowed to start baby food and some table food. (bland stuff and things that he can gum to death!) He loved the carrots that we tried first. He's also had green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, and pears. He's suppose to have 3 meals a day with solid foods in it and then bottles at other times in the day. She said it doesn't matter how we do the foods, fruits first, vegetables, which kinds first etc. as long as he's eating. He is allowed to have all the solid foods he wants she said. So far, I think the green beans and squash have been his least favorite. I've stuck with mainly bananas so far as the fruit, but we have tried pears like I said. He doesn't seem to be too picky on the fruit so far. Since he's getting 2 meals with food and one with cereal, I've been doing 2-3 meals of one vegetable before changing anything, but I'm not doing the best at that for some reason. He's eating about 2 jars of the stage 1 foods at a time. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. He had a jar of green beans, 3/4 of a jar of bananas and then a jar of squash for lunch today! Then, for dinner, he had squash and a few bites of bananas and that was all he wanted. He was getting tired too though.
Tonight before his bath he was running a 99.9 temp. He has been somewhat cranky off and on today, but I think he's starting to try to get some teeth I think. He hasn't been abnormally cranky, but just somewhat cranky. He seems to calm down and take his bottle a little better when I give him some orajel so I try to make sure to do that with his bottles if he's too fussy and doesn't want it. His gums don't seem to be too abnormally buldgy but they are always somewhat buldgy. We will see if his temp goes up tomorrow. If it gets higher, he'll go to the doctor to have his ears checked, if it stays about the same, then I'll assume it's just teeth! We should know for sure in a few days if its teeth. Leon got really fussy a couple days before his first ones came in and after that, it was just teeth by 2's and no problems until his molars came in...those were a pain! I need to get Noah's 6 month pics downloaded and their easter pictures downloaded too to share! I'll try to do that in the next few days.
