Joys of Parenting

Leon has decided to get up every night for the past week just screaming about an hour to an hour and a half after he goes to bed. I've given him Tylenol the past 2 nights and he hasn't done it, which tells me that something is hurting him while he sleeps. The doctor looked at his ears, throat, and everything else and said everything looks fine so I know it's nothing like that. Other than that one time, he is fine all day and the rest of the night which is what seemed weird to me.

He is doing so much better with the stage 3 foods. I can actually give him the "chunkier" ones and he doesn't gag or anything. He actually chews up the pieces...as much as he can and as best as he can with only 8 teeth! He is so darn cute though. This weekend will be fairly relaxing for him. We're taking him swimming and to his first soccer game. (not professional...just a group of people playing for fun) If it is as hot as they say it's going to be, we may or may not go...we'll just have to see. It feels like record heat to me but I know we're really not that close to it. It has just been so hot lately and extremely humid and if it's that humid, Leon doesn't need to be out in that kind of weather with him being so small. So, as for the soccer game, we'll play it by ear.

Skip got to meet the pediatrician for the first time and I think he's satisfied with the one I chose. She is very thorough and explains things so that you can understand them and know what directions you are to follow. He has gained 8 ounces I think...maybe 10 in 2 weeks so he's not having issues with the growth area that's for sure! He's doing excellent with fruit/veggie puffs as well. He has had a few bites of a french fry the last couple of times I've had them and seems to really enjoy those. He's wanting more table food, but he always eats his food. I know that isn't going to last forever, so I'm hoping he stays in that stage a little longer. We'll see though.

He's in a "big boy" car seat now. That kind of makes me sad that he's growing up but I'm absolutely sick of carrying that heavy infant car seat around everywhere so I decided to buy a convertible one for him. He seems to like it, but he really doesn't care either. He was "patting" it today when he got in it for the first time. He just looks so grown up in it compared to what he did in the infant one. It's bigger so I guess it's understandable. As long as he's safe I guess that's the only thing that really matters though huh?
