Our Journey Through Parenting: 8 Teeth & Misc

On Sunday, not only did Leon wake up cranky yet again and then later had an ear infection (with fever) but he also woke up VERY stuffy and congested again. By now, I should know what that means!! ANOTHER TOOTH!! Leon now has 4 teeth on top and 4 on bottom, plus he is working on 2 molars, one on each side on top along with another one on top too...I think! I had been trying to feel for his lower bottom tooth but he just wouldn't let me, so today I got in a sneak feel and felt it. Then, I pulled down his lip and low and behold...you can actually see almost half of the tooth already! WOW, that was fast! So, that explains the congestion, the ear infection explains the crankiness and the fever, so I was happy.

The last time he was sick, he had Tutti Frutti dessert and I just assumed that it was "time" for him to get sick again. Well, he had Tutti Frutti again last night and needless to say, he is definitely NOT getting it ever again! He ate dinner then we went out to eat at Chilis and just as we were getting him ready to get in the carseat, he started vomiting. We only live like a mile from Chilis and he vomited the whole way home, continued in the bath tub and finally finished in the bouncy chair! Then, he fell asleep and was pretty much out for the night. This morning, he woke up STARVING and he actually ate VERY well. Normally when he goes through spells like this he won't eat for a couple days...at least doesn't eat very well for a couple days. This time he was completely different. He got up and had his cereal plus 5 oz of formula. Then took an hour nap, got up played for about 30 minutes, ate lunch-squash and applesauce, then we went to the grocery store to get him some table food to eat...at least to see what he does with it. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Small stuff that he shouldn't have a problem with. He also ate about 3 ounces with lunch. Now that we are home, he's laying down taking another nap...going on an hour already, so we'll see how long his afternoon nap is I guess. He has been in a GREAT mood all day despite the rough evening last night. Oh well, things are bound to happen. I don't know if the dessert just doesn't agree with him or if it's too much for his acid reflux or something. I may ask the doctor about it when he goes back in a few weeks. I can't believe he is 8 1/2 months old already!

This week he also started on "some" table food. I gave him some spaghetti one night that we had it just to see waht he did. I put the first piece in his mouth and after that, he actually started to pick them up and eat them himself! IT was so cute. Anyway, here are some pictures of Leon.
