Another VIRUS

or something...I'll explain that in a minute.

Well, we went to have the boys' pictures taken today and Leon did great...except he WOULD NOT smile for NOTHING! After the pictures, I ran to Best Buy to grab a gift card, and then to Steak-N-Shake for lunch with Danielle and the boys. Leon ate great. He had 1 oz of formula along with his vegetables and fruit. Then, he fell asleep on the way home. I put him in his crib and he wakes up about 2 hours later talking...so I go in there to get him up and he has vomited ALL over the sheets. There really wasn't that much, but he had smeared it with his arms, and his FACE...yes, his face...boy was that fun to clean up! I got him cleaned up and I had to wash his bumper too because he smeared it all over that. Why don't babies know to not mess with their bodily fluids?!?! So, I got him up, changed him and put him in the exersaucer. He started getting really whiny so I thought I'd try to feed him...BIG MISTAKE!!!!! He vomited up everything he ate and then sat there and looked at me with this look on his face...the look he always does when he gets sick...kind of like, "Well, why did you do that?" So, I changed him...AGAIN...along with my clothes, because, yeah, they can't just do it and not get it everywhere. Every time he's gotten sick before, he's had ear infections, so I took him to the doctor to rule that out. I knew it was either that or a virus...I was leaning more towards the virus but wanted to make sure. Sure enough...his ears are fine...like they usually are. He fell asleep in the bouncy chair for about half an hour. I went to do the dishes and it got REALLY quiet which bothered me, so I went to check on him and he was out!

So, once he got up we left for the doctor. We got home and started the pedialyte. He had 2 oz. and then 20 minutes later, it came back up so I changed him...AGAIN and then gave him 1 oz. 30 minutes later, I got the bottle back out for 1 more ounce and he gagged as soon as I put the nipple in his mouth. He spit up just a little bit so I decided it was bed time for him. I put him in his crib about 5 minutes later and he is sleeping very soundly right now. I know it will be hard for me to sleep well tonight though I'm sure! So, hopefully he will not be sick tomorrow and it's just some fluke or something but we'll see. I don't want him to completely ruin my plans this weekend...although if he's not feeling well, he wouldn't have much fun I'm sure. So...hopefully Leon will be feeling better and sleep really well tonight...we'll see. I'll update more tomorrow.

The something thing...he has two bulging molars now...yes 2...this is SO not suppose to happen for quite some time now! The doctor mentioned him getting ready to start teething. I said, "oh, he cut 7 teeth already withing like 2 months. He has 2 molars that are bulging." She said, "Oh, well, some kids will vomit when they are teething and him trying to cut 2 at once may have put him over the top." Are you kidding me?!?! This is NOT suppose to happen yet, and who has ever heard of teething making a kid throw up??????

    Hi Crystal!

Did my mom ever tell you that when I was Leon's age, I threw up constantly? She still calls me a puky baby to this day. Maybe it is genetic. It didn't seem to harm me any - I never was as skinny as Skippy as a baby - it just made constant messes for Mom. Which as you know, she loves! - Lynn
