Update

I haven't been the greatest at updating this past week have I? Oh well, we have been somewhat busy. Last weekend we spent at my in-laws for Skip's birthday. It was fun although I was feeling quite under the weather. We actually left a little earlier than we had originally planned because I wanted to get back and go to the doctor. My ears were killing me. I didn't have an ear infection but instead my tubes were so full of mucus it was putting a LOT of pressure on my ears. So, I was suppose to take Sudafed along with some Nasonex and they said if I wasn't feeling better in 4-5 days to see my doctor. So, Monday I start in with this HORRIBLE cough. Monday night I started to lose my voice, Tuesday I had pretty much lost it, Wednesday it was better but my cough was even worse. So, I went back to the doctor and it's a cold...like I suspected, however, she put me on some prescription strength cough syrup. It has codeine in it and boy was I still out of it today at work...all day for the most part. Needless to say, not only did it kick my butt, but it kicked the cough's butt too because I haven't been near as bad as I was yesterday and the day before! I actually haven't taken any cough syrup today at all which is good for me! That's about it as far as I am concerned.

Leon, well, he is done with his antibiotic and I've decided not to give him any more cough syrup unless he starts coughing really bad again. He's getting a little more congested, but SURPRISE...his 6th tooth is going to be breaking through in about 2 days...my guess anyway! Just in the last couple of days he has actually started sitting up on his own...not leaning forward either! I am WAY excited about this milestone. Granted, he doesn't sit there for hours and hours, but he'll sit there and play games with you for quite a while. It's so much fun. Before I know it, he'll be crawling all over the place! He is in 6-9 month clothes now for the most part. Some of his really big 3-6 month ones still fit him, but he's mostly in 6-9 months. He went swimming again this weekend and absolutely LOVED it!

I have decided to switch doctors for him. This week has been the final straw. All weekend his eyes were extremely goopy from all the pink eye stuff he had going on. He had went to the doctor on Thursday. Monday they were even worse than they were all weekend, so I called the doctor back and the nurse said, "it's just an eye cold, give him a couple more days, Dr. Wright won't be back until Thursday so if he's not better by then, bring him back in." He was on some eye drops, but apparently they weren't working! So, Monday when I picked him up from daycare, Danielle convinced me to take him to immediate care, so I did. They confirmed my original theory of pink eye and gave him stronger eye drops. They actually put him on what I am on...yes, I was at the doctor Friday morning with pink eye as well!!!!! (Darn kids) So, I put him on those drops Monday night and I am not kidding, by Tuesday morning, the goopiness was GONE...and I mean GONE!!!!!!! Don't tell me that was an eye cold doc! So, that was my last straw and now I'm searching for a pediatrician for my sweet innocent baby boy who has no control over any sort of germs he comes in contact with because EVERYTHING goes in his mouth...but he's a baby, he's suppose to right?? He is 7 months old now as of yesterday too! I can't believe he's that old already! Where has the time gone?!?! I'll have to post some pictures of him sitting up here in the next day or so. I still have some more to take though.

So, at 7 months Leon can do the following:
*Roll over from back to belly and belly to back.
*Sit up on his own for a few minutes at a time.
*say dada...granted, he has NO clue what he is saying, but he's saying it. :) I wanted him to say mama first though...but I'll take what I can get.

I know there are other things he's doing as well, but these are the newest. I'll update more from the What to Expect the First Year book later, but for now, I'm hitting the hay...my pillow is calling my name :) This cold has worn me out! Saturday morning I have an appointment with the eye doctor...it's been almost 2 years I think since I've been and I'm pretty much out of contacts now that this pink eye thing is over with...I think it is anyway!
