Ear Infection & Pink Eye

Last night was a VERY rough night. For about 2 1/2 hours, Leon woke up about 10 minutes after he fell asleep just crying, whining, and sometimes even screaming. I tried changing him, feeding him, and burping him since he cried for so long and NOTHING seemed to work. Finally, after dealing with this for a while I decided to give him some Tylenol...again. I've been giving it to him at night so he sleeps a little better because he's also teething...working on his 6th tooth...yes, 6th and he's not even 7 months old yet! He woke up this morning at 6:30 like normal and ate some cereal and then he was done and was trying to gag on it. So, I gave him his bottle and he just played with it. I figured he wasn't really hungry since he had only had his bottle a few hours earlier. So, off to daycare and work we went. I called on my lunch to check on him and he was doing fine. Then 30 minutes later, daycare calls and says he has a fever of 101 and he's gotten sick! So, I called the doctor immediately to get him in and they had a 12:30 appointment so I rushed to daycare to get him and then rushed to the doctor and ended up being about 5-10 minutes late...but oh well. Come to find out, he has an ear infection and the beginning stages of pink eye. His eye had green gunky stuff coming out of it when I picked him up from daycare. It was really gross. So, he has an antibiotic that he takes once a day for 5 days along with eye drops...boy were those fun the first time! Actually it wasn't bad, but I'm sure he'll catch on here soon what I'm doing. He ate dinner fine tonight so far. He's still coughing some, but he can still take the other medicine he was taking previously as well. So, I guess I've gotten my first taste of what he will do when he has an ear infection now huh?? Not sleep the night before and then get sick and run a fairly high fever at daycare! He really wasn't cranky though...only at night. I'd rather him be cranky during the day and sleep at night though!

Tomorrow we are heading to Skip's parents house. The doctor said it's fine to proceed with our plans...so that's just 2 more things we need to remember tomorrow...his medication! I'll update everyone later with pictures of his second swimming adventure! Hopefully he cooperates this time. It's another indoor pool so I don't have to worry about any other illnesses. They will warm the pool up so it won't even be cold for him and it'll seem like he's taking a bath. I'll update more later. Have a good weekend.
