Ear Infection...AGAIN
How many times do infants have to get ear infections before they consider tubes?? I know it depends on the pediatrician but it seems like Leon has had a ton of them, but he's really only had 3 total...in 8 months. Which to me, doesn't seem too bad, but then who knows. I've started getting them like CRAZY too but mine have seemed to subside somewhat now! I took him to immediate care because he has been extremely cranky the last couple of days and then today after he ate lunch he had a fever of 100.9 so I figured I should take him somewhere to find out what is wrong with him. I figured that was what it was, but wanted to make sure and get him started on the antibiotics as soon as possible. They put him on Omnicef. I've been on it before, but his is a powder that I have to "mix" myself. You mix it with water and then each bottle will last him for 2 days! As soon as he is fever free, he'll be able to go back to daycare. I'm sure he'll be fine though by tomorrow morning..at least I'm hoping anyway! Why couldn't this have happened like yesterday and then I wouldn't have had to worry about it?? I can't give him his antibiotic yet because he's asleep. Hopefully he'll take it well though. It is strawberry flavored I believe...at least it has strawberries on the box! Wish us luck...hopefully his crankiness subsides. Hopefully he'll get a decent cat nap in...eat dinner, get a bath, take his medicine along with more Tylenol, and be out for the night! I'll update on how he's doing later.
