General Info

Leon has successfully learned how to eat the fruit/veggie puffs now! He even feeds himself...sometimes. It depends on where he has it at in his hand. He tries if it's more towards his palm but just can't get it in there and so he tries to stick his whole hand in his mouth! It's rather funny!

Leon was cranky a couple of days this week at daycare. Thursday he was running a low grade fever...99.5. The doctor wanted to see him so I took him in and they said it's probably just his teeth. He hasn't really had a fever since then though. I was wondering if he may have a sinus infection because he's had a lot of thick green mucus lately plus being congested again which makes me wonder if he'll be cutting another tooth soon. He only has like 8 more to cut and 4 of those are molars! They have been bulging on top for about a month now I think. I didn't really think they'd be coming through any time soon but if that's what is causing his fussiness and fever, so be it...come through pleeeease!!!! He hasn't really been fussy around me though. He just went down at 12 for his nap and he's still asleep. He should take at least a 2-3 hour nap I'm assuming...it's been almost 1 1/2 hours so far, so I'm definitely not complaining. He wouldn't take a morning nap so maybe for me, he's starting to only take one longer nap in the middle of the day...which doesn't bother me at all. He didn't get up until 7:30 this morning which also didn't bother me as opposed to his 6:30-7 most mornings. He had a late night Thursday, but went to bed at 7:30 last night. He took more of his bottle than I expected him to, but I can deal with that too.

Next weekend Leon gets his 9 month pictures taken and then Danielle and I are taking the boys to Terre Haute because we've been wanting to eat at a restaraunt there. (Moggers) They have the BEST breaded mushrooms I've ever had. It is a really good place to eat too, and it's not a chain like Applebees or something like that. Then, we're going to the mall for a while and then probably to Garfields for dinner...(there isn't one of those here either.) Other than that I don't have any plans next weekend. I have to work on Monday the 3rd...yuck, hopefully I get off early, but then who knows. We won't know until we see how busy we are. We were really slow yesterday afteroon so we'll see how Monday goes I guess. I have the 4th off but Skip has to work. He has the 3rd, 5th, and 6th off! Go figure!!

The weekend after that I'm having a Pampered Chef and Tastefully Simple party together. I'm looking forward to that actually. Then on the 29th I am getting some passes from work to the zoo so that should be fun. Stay tuned for pictures from Leon's first trip to the zoo! I'm sure he'll have a blast! We went to Metropolis on Thursday and they have one of those water things that shoots water in different directions and at different speeds etc. He absolutely LOVED it! I almost couldn't get him away without him whining! I just know he'll love the zoo...especially the dolphins! That is my favorite part anyway...so I'm sure he'll like it too! I will update more on that later. So, that leaves 1 weekend that we won't be doing anything this month! Busy busy I guess.

I can't believe Leon will be 9 months in like another week and a half or so! It's just so amazing how fast the time flies! He is sitting up like a pro now. He'll get up on his hands and knees for a few seconds and rocks back and forth but mostly, he'd rather roll all over the house! I guess he's the next one at daycare that they expect to crawl. There are 4 babies in the infant room that were born in October. The 9, 10, 17, and 31st! The one born on the 17th is the only one crawling and he just started in the last week or so. He's not crawling good, but he'll move and go a little ways! It's SO cute! He's starting to try to pull up too on people's legs. Leon still tries to play with your toes while he's on the ground though! He'll get there...in NO time I'm sure!

Here are some pictures of him eating the fruit puffs. I haven't actually given him the veggie puffs yet because I don't want more than 1 of them opened at once.

Yum Yum!!

Working on grabbing one of those!

Feeding myself like a big boy!

I'm sure we'll be working more and more on solids with him here VERY soon. He still has plenty of stage 2 baby foods, but we'll have to see how he does one thing at a time. I don't know what we'll try next. I have carrots, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes to try that we've bought for him. I'll also have to get some cheerios here soon I'm sure. He's just doing so well with it. A lot better than he did a couple of weeks ago. He had some canteloupe on Thursday. He seemed to enjoy that. He had a TINY bit of ice cream earlier this week. He REALLY liked that. It was by no means enough to make him hyper or anything...just a little taste on the end of a spoon. I think that's about all he's had though...we'll be starting new stuff soon...stay tuned!
