Sibling Class

This is how Leon spends his mornings now...we hang out in mommy and daddy's room when he gets up. He LOVES it though. He watches cartoons while I take a shower. He knows he isn't allowed to get off the bed until I'm done.

We took Leon to the Especially for Children class today at the hospital. They did a small tour for the kids and we came back a few hours later for the "adult" tour that went into more detail. At first during the class Leon was really shy and wanted to be held, but as soon as they said to open up the boxes with the babies in them, he got all loving and loud! He wanted to hold the baby. He has been asking me when he's going to be able to give Noah hugs and kisses. He is always saying, mom, I want to give the baby a kiss. I keep telling him in a few more weeks. I know he doesn't get the concept of time, but it's enough for now to assure him that he will actually be here sometime soon.

We went by the nursery and he stood on the steps and just stared at the babies that were in there. I mean, stared and talked about the baby. He's so intrigued and interested by it. He got to bring home a diaper, hat, and a few other little things from the class to practice on his stuffed animals. I'm sure he won't actually "do" that, but I guess we get a free diaper and hat out of it. :) So, all I really know from Leon is that he is definitely ready for the baby...at least that's what he says, and he wants to give him kisses when he gets here. :) They played a movie at the class too explaining different things that are safe for the baby to play with, what they are allowed to eat, etc. He may not have picked up on all of that today, but it won't take him long. He's really a smart kid. He was the youngest out of all the kids there.
During the "adult" tour, we found out where we are suppose to go when we get there and all that fun stuff. With it being a planned birth, I wasn't sure what they do different...that part is all new to me. :) The hospital is nice, but not as easy to get around as the hospital I had Leon at. My doctor only goes to one hospital now, as opposed to 2 or 3 when Leon was born, but this one is only about 3 years old. It opened right around the time Leon was born. I've heard a lot of good things about it and it is nice...just more difficult to find a room. The rooms are marked differently than you would think. I guess it's not really that big of a deal though, if someone wants to find me to visit, all they have to do is ask :) Overall, it was a good class. Skip and I learned a few new things too actually. It was a cheap class, and Leon had fun so it was all worth it in the end I guess. I go back to the doctor on Monday. I'll update more then.
