ENT Appt & 24 Week Update
Leon went back to the ear doctor on Tuesday. He passed the hearing test with flying colors! He did so much better than he did before. It was a drastic change. He could definitely see the right tube and it looked fine. The left ear had a lot of earwax and dried bloody drainage from the surgery still so he wasn't able to see it. He wants us to continue using the antibiotic ear drops he gave us at the hospital until we go back on July 15th. He gave us another bottle in case we run out, but said to use them twice a day until we go back or run out whichever one comes first. He said that it should be about the same time though. The pressurized test was better, but it is only showing that his ears are normal for a person without tubes. His numbers on that should be higher than what they were, which is why he wants to get the drainage and wax out of the way and go back to make sure there isn't something else that he needs to have done. He just wants to get him completely fixed as much as I do, so we will go back and see him in about 2 weeks for another follow up.
My 24 week appointment went well yesterday. Leon went with me and got a glove balloon which he absolutely LOVED! I have only gained 13 pounds so far, which I thought was a little more than that, but hey...I won't argue. He said that I will more than likely weigh less after having the baby than I did before I got pregnant. That doesn't surprise me too much because that's what happened with Leon. I'm definitely not complaining about that though!! There was a medical student with him and she was the one listening for the heartbeat. I had warned her that the baby is high...compared to where she was trying and that he's a mover. So, she moved up a little bit and right away found the heartbeat...for about 3 seconds. Noah decided to move on her like always and go to the left side. She found him on the other side and his heartrate was in the 160's...since he was moving. Normally it's in the 150's, but everything is normal. She laughed and said, "yeah, he's definitely a mover." I guess that confirms the fact that I say he moves a lot. We have a doppler at home that we use occasionally and everytime I find it he moves. I was just more curious to see if he did it there or not. Kids...they are so funny and definitely have a mind of their own.
I took Leon to a water park near by on Wednesday after work. I went with a co-worker and her 2 kids...ages 6 and 3. It was a late night for him but he loved it. He was so tired by the end laying his head on my shoulder. We went to the restroom to change before leaving and when we came out he wanted to go back in the water again. I told him that we would come back later, but bring daddy with us. He was ok with that. Then yesterday morning when I went to get him up to head to work the first thing he says is, "Mommy, we go back to the water again??" I told him we would, but not today. He's loves it but he doesn't like to be splashed. He doesn't get mad, just has this funny look on his face. They have 2 water slides in the kiddy area. He went down one of them, afterwards, I realized he should have went down the other one because it was really fast and a better chance he would go under. He had a look on his face like he was terrified the whole way down. Once I had him he just laughed and said he wanted to do it again but never went back down it. He had so much fun. He doesn't have to wear ear plugs in the water unless it's dirty water or he will be going under and doing more than splashing type stuff...which is really nice. Tubes have changed a lot over the years I guess. My cousin had to wear ear plugs in the bath and anything around water, but Leon doesn't have to. It's nice.
