Terrified

I'm not sure what or why exactly, but Leon is terrified to go to bed in his room by himself all of a sudden since having the ear tubes put in. I don't know if it's because now he can hear everything to where he couldn't before, or what it is, but I'm tired of having to listen to him cry for a minimum of an hour and a half every single night at bedtime. 2 nights I layed down with him until he was asleep, but that isn't going to happen anymore. I have too many things to do around the house to stay in there, and i'm not starting that habit now. Last night and tonight he's had the dog sleep in his room for a good hour and a half at least last night if not longer, and tonight he still has yet to go to sleep. He's much more calm with Rocky in there, but still is absolutely terrified of something and I don't know what it is. I've asked him and he's said because his ears hurt. I don't know if it has something to do with him being put out and then waking up with some ear pain or what it is. Any suggestions would be helpful. We've tried reassuring him and bribing him etc. but nothing is working and I'm getting so stressed out in the evenings about it.

Jadyn just got tubes put in at the beginning of April. She had quite a bit of pain after. More than the dr thought she should have. She ended up having a clogged tube about a week after. It was treated and she has been good ever since. She was crying at night and throughout the day about it. Hope he gets better and lets you get some sleep.

He doesn't seem to be in pain, just will not go to bed without a good 45 minute fight. Before, he'd go in his room and read a book or do something else until he fell asleep. Once he finally falls asleep, he stays asleep. That's weird with a clogged tube though. I've never heard of that...but I could see where it would happen.

I agree with your theory of him just hearing things better and so he's hearing things at night that he's not used to. And he probably just doesn't have the words to explain that so he's saying his ears hurt. Have you tried playing a lullaby CD or a white noise machine? Maybe if you could block out all the other noises with something he's used to it might help...
    Hope it gets better soon!

    I can't wait for tomorrow!!!!! :)
