Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy Doctor

Leon and I both have just gotten over ear infections. Leon came down with one and then a few days later I came down with one. While Leon was at the doctor, she had mentioned possibly sending Leon to an Ear, Nose, Throat, and Allergy doctor. He constantly has a runny nose, has fluid in his ears fairly frequently, has allergies even though we don't know to what, sounds hoarse all the time, and his doctor thinks he talks nasally. When Leon had about a day left of his antibiotic he was still complaining of ear pain, so I made another trip to the doctor and had his ears checked again. His ears were completely healed up so there wasn't any reason for him to be complaining of his ears hurting. There wasn't even any fluid build up that time...which may be one of the VERY few times that has ever happened. While we were there, she sent us to have blood drawn to see what he's allergic to. They did the basic test, pet dander, eggs, peanuts, and about 10-15 other things that I can't remember now. She also said that she really thinks he needs to go see the ENT&A specialist. Leon was great having his blood drawn. I held his arms down and he whined a little when they stuck the needle in but then he just sat there and watched...YES, a 2 1/2 year old just sat as he was stuck with a needle for 2 whole tubes of blood to be drawn! I was shocked that's for sure. We didn't even need any help to hold him down by another nurse! The next day, his doctor called back with the test results...NO allergies showed up and his sensitivity to allergies was normal. What does this mean??? We don't know, the doctor is stumped and that is why we are going to see the specialist on Tuesday. His doctor thinks that maybe his adenoids are too big and may need to be removed, but that's just her guess. All of his test results related to why he's going there should be sent to them by now. I'll hopefully have more information on Tuesday. I think he talks great, but compared to a lot of the other kids in his class, he doesn't talk as well as I had thought. I wonder if maybe the fluid build up in his ears, may be a reason for him to possibly need tubes, or something else done depending on what everything else comes back as. I'm curious to see what they say and i'm hoping that surgery isn't one of them, but ultimately, I'm sure it will be at some point. He's not sick much, but most of his illnesses have been ear infections or sinus infections so who knows what they will tell us.

I have my 16 week doctor appointment on Monday. I hope he hears the heartbeat this time, but part of me is secretly hoping for another ultrasound so I can ask if they can tell what the sex of the baby is yet. I'm getting so anxious about it now for some reason! I have some other questions I want to go over with him too, but we'll see if I get another ultrasound this time or if I have to wait 4 more weeks. Either way it doesn't matter...as long as the baby is healthy.

I'm getting more comments from people about work about my belly. Its neat that other people are starting to notice. I know I have noticed, but you always notice yourself first before other people notice things. I'll update more on Monday and/or Tuesday with more information.
