Big Boy Stuff

I am working on planning Leon's first birthday party. I'm mailing out the invitations at the end of this week or beginning of next week. I can't believe he is almost a year old already! The first year really does fly by!

He went to the doctor on Wednesday about his pulling up issues he's been having. The doctor referred me to First Steps. It's a program here in Indiana that works with children ages 3 and under with issues they are having. They deal with speech therapy, physical therapy, and a variety of other things. I have contacted them and we have an appointment on Thursday with the coordinator. It is a government program, however, they come to you to help out the child which is really nice. They will be able to go to daycare to help him. I plan on taking my lunch whenever they do it just to be there and know what to work on at home. We have tried working with him but he just refuses. He pulls his legs up when you try to stand him up like a kid throwing a fit would do except he's not throwing a fit. He thinks it's funny and I tell him it's not but he just doesn't want to do it. He's not even TRYING to pull himself up onto anything. He's so content rolling all over the floor. So, we have the appointment with the coordinator to fill out some paper work. Then after that is processed they have to evaluate him to make sure he "needs" help. After that is processed, they will schedule another appointment for paperwork as far as goals, where the physical therapy will be located etc. Then after that is processed, they'll contact us for the appointments. I believe it will be one day a week but I'm not sure how long the appointments will be. I'm just glad that he will be able to get some help in the areas that he is getting behind in. If he's like the other people's kids who have been in the program for speech therapy, it won't take but a couple appiontments and he should be improving drastically. I just hope that he cooperates! So, I will keep you updated on how that is going once we start all of that stuff. Other than that, the doctor said he can start on whole milk as soon as I am sick of formula...HELLO...it's EXPENSIVE!!!!!! So, as soon as we are finished with what we have, we'll make that transition. I don't think it'll be too hard though. Cameron was over today and had a cup of milk and he took it when it was almost gone and tried to get the last few drops out of it! I think he did actually get some though. He is up from his nap now!

Here is a scanned image of his birthday invitations! They are SO cute and he LOVES elmo right now!!

More to come later! I still have to take a picture of my hair...when it's done. Weekends are pretty lazy unless we're doing something!
