Vacation and Noah
Noah's GI dr called a while ago and told me that his biopsies came back normal. We also got a letter in the mail from him a few days ago stating the same thing and everything we had already knew. As it turns out, it doesn't look like they ever actually tested him for reflux. That irritates me a lot because that is what I told him in the beginning that I thought it was. I am taking to an ENT next week unless they have a cancellation before then. I want a second opinion!
He vomits just about every time he eats fruit. He met with a nutritionist about 2 weeks ago and she suggested putting instant vanilla pudding in his bottle to help him with flavor. It worked, he took it lots better, and then he started vomiting every day which didn't help at all with him trying to gain weight. She gave me some duocal to add to his baby food. It absorbs and adds about 25 calories per scoop to his food. He continued vomiting on that, so I stopped using that as well. Still...he continued, so I switched him to soy formula for one can and he did fine. I switched him back yesterday to his usual formula and he did vomit today, however, he had gotten choaked a little cause he had too much in his mouth. After he got sick, he continued eating like crazy, so it must not have affected him in any way. I don't understand why he keeps doing this. It's so random. I haven't been able to find a pattern to it or anything, he just does it. Her goal was to have him around 16 lbs when she came back. He was 15 lbs 13 oz when she was here. Him vomiting moves us farther and farther backwards. She said that she thinks his whole problem is that his reflux isn't in control and it needs to be controlled before he will get any better. My reaction, THANK GOD...at least SOMEONE agrees with me!!!!!! I've been so frustrated and I really hope that they change his dosage when he goes to see him. I think he needs more than what he's on, maybe even closer to an adult dosage.
We had a good trip to northern Indiana and then we also decided to take a trip to Ohio. It turned out really well. The boys did wonderful in the car every time. I have pictures, but I haven't downloaded them to the computer yet. (I'm really bad about that...I keep promising pictures, and it never happens. I know...sorry :(
