Noah had his 9 month checkup yesterday at the doctor's office. I don't forget exactly what his weight was, but it was just under 16 lbs. He is doing great and can start some table foods. She does think he should continue seeing the speech pathologist, and she suggested putting chocolate syrup in his bottle for flavor. I am suppose to check with the nutritionist next week and see what her opinion is about the pediasure. Hopefully we can get him to gain a little more weight and he'll just take off!
The endoscopy went ok today. He weighed 16.1 lbs today...so a little heavier than yesterday. We arrived at the hospital at 6:30 and they took him back around 8. Around 9 the doctor came in and gave me some pictures. He said that everything is normal looking. There aren't any signs of redness, irritation, allergies or anything like that. He did take some biopsies of his esophogus, stomach, and small intestine to send to the lab. The biopsy is the size of the tip of a pen, so it's a very small amount of tissue that they take. He said that they will send it to the lab and have it tested for acidic levels. He said even if the tissue doesn't look like there is irritation, if his acid levels are high, he will have to be treated...I'm assuming with meds. He really didn't say. I hope this will tell us something, but nothing else has so far so I'm just going with the flow. His pediatrician said she may test him for food allergies if the endoscopy comes back normal. She is trying to come up with a plan C since we are already on plan B...hopefully something will turn up!
