Splash Island
We went to Splash Island last night after Skip got home from work. I forgot to take the camera with me, but on Wednesday nights during the summer they have a "wet wednesday" from 7-10pm. We went last year and Leon really enjoyed it so we decided to go again this year. It's a local water park that has lots of things to do. There is a sand area for the kiddos to play in the sand, diving boards, water slides, a guppy pool for babies, a few other smaller things where water just shoots up in the air and sprays everywhere. The main pool has a divider between the big water slides and the kiddy water slides. We usually stay on the kiddy side, but it's like a beach as far as the farther out the deeper it gets, even though it only gets to a little over 3 ft deep. Noah loved the water. Leon has always liked the water, until it comes to getting around his face. By the end, I finally got Leon to go down where it's a little bit more shallower so he can touch and actually jump and play on his own for the most part. He still wanted to hold my hand, but he was playing more on his own. It was nice because he wasn't attached at my hip...literally! By the time he got use to it it was time for their hourly break. He was upset and didn't understand why we had to get out for a little while. After the break was up, they saw some lightning moving in and ended up closing the pool down a little earlier than normal. Leon was so upset. He wanted to get back in the pool and play some more. I told him if the weather is nice next week we may go back. We will just have to see what the weather does here I guess. Noah loved splashing in the water. You can do just about anything with him in the water and he doesn't care. I'll have to remember to take the camera next time and take some pictures. Both boys went to bed very easily once we got home. (as they should have) While we were at the pool, I got to see a couple of ex-coworkers and a little boy that was in my class when I taught the older 2's. It was a nice little daycare reunion. None of them had seen Noah yet, so it was nice that they got to see him. It was a nice little "daycare reunion" for us I guess :) Leon didn't seem to recognize any of them, but it's been almost a year since he's seen any of them.
Noah has been doing about the same, maybe a tad bit better depending on the day. Both test results were normal, and I called today to make sure he didn't need to be seen again before his followup on August 5th. I've been weighing Noah on our scales here at home just to kind of get an idea if he's gaining weight or not. He was a little over 14 1/2 lbs the last time he was at the doctor. Lately at our house he's been about 15.6 lbs...so he's gained some weight I'm assuming. (Hopefully anyway) He goes back to his pediatrician for a 9 month checkup on July 15th I believe, so we will get a weight and height then and see how well he's growing. I'm against putting the g-tube in at this point though. I just don't think he needs it. He's doing great. His therapist said that he can have more and more soft mushy table foods. He's doing great at "biting" off pieces of the Gerber lil' crunchies and puffs, and stuff like that. She was really impressed at the progress he's made in the last two weeks. This morning he took about 3 1/2 oz of formula, his cereal, and then a yo baby yogurt. He seemed to really like it. After his oatmeal he still seemed hungry so I gave him one of those to try. He loved! There really isn't anything so far I've had trouble getting him to eat other than peas...he doesn't really care for those. He will eat them, but he hardly ever finishes a whole jar of them. I HOPE to get some pictures uploaded in the next day or so. Leon is suppose to start t-ball practice tonight, but I don't know if they will or not. It's suppose to rain and have some strong storms about the time practice is suppose to start. I'm not counting on it too much right now!
