Noah had his ENT appointment on Tuesday during the monsoon we were having. Everything here was flooded as I tried to get to the doctor. I was determined I guess! What should have taken me no more than 45 minutes to get to the doctor turned out to be almost 2 hours!! The weather was absolutely crazy. I think we got like 4 or 5 inches of rain during the morning and early afternoon. Anyway, the doctor looked him over, in his nose, ears, throat, etc. Everything an ENT 'should' do. He said that he didn't see any signs of reflux, however, if I chose, he could do a scope procedure in the office. He'd numb his nose and put a tube down his nose and look at his throat to see if there were any signs of reflux there. He said that there was a good chance that he wouldn't find anything that the GI doctor didn't find...which was nothing. He said since we just had the endoscopy done, it was my decision if I wanted to do this one or not. I elected for him to do the procedure since he was continuing to vomit. He numbed his nose and then came back in about 5 minutes or so, and did the scope. He said that there are definitely signs of reflux going on and his medication needed to be increased. He ended up doubling his dose of Prevacid and now we are just waiting to see what happens and if it helps. I sure hope it does! He seems to be doing a little better. He did vomit this evening. I'm not sure if it was because I had tried the vanilla pudding in his bottle again or if it was because I was trying to get him to eat when he really wasn't hungry, but either way, he vomited some during dinner. I really hope things settle down for him soon and he takes his bottles better.
He is 10 months old today! I can't believe it...in 2 months I will have a 4 year old and a 1 year old!!! Where does the time go??? Noah is doing well for the most part...other than his eating issues, but hopefully that will be resolved VERY soon. He is doing his version of crawling. He definitely gets where he wants to go. He does more of the movement with his legs. I'll have to take a video of him "crawling" and post it...it's actually quite hilarious! It's sort of an army crawl, but not really. I don't even know how to explain it! He has 3 teeth now, the third one just broke through a couple of days ago. He has another one on top that I think will come through very soon. His bottom gums are swollen a little, but not like the top ones were. He will eat most stage 3 baby foods, but it kind of depends on his mood. He loves to try to eat table food as well. He doesn't really want his bottle...but hasn't for quite some time. I think part of it right now is cause of his teething. He is trying to learn to drink from a sippy cup. He doesn't understand to suck on it, but if I take out the valve, he does actually get some...although he ends up wearing A LOT of it! All in all...he's a fairly typical 10 month old!
