Fever Fever Go Away...
....and don't come back another day! PLEASE!!!! I hope this never ever comes back...the latest from the doctor today: THE FLU!!!!!! Apparently he has gotten some type of flu that was NOT in his flu shot...how irritating is that?!?!
We don't have to use the eye drops for the pink eye anymore because it is pretty much gone now. We are continuing the Amoxicillan for the sinus infection and we are waiting out this crazy old flu bug! I do have to say...overall today his fever has been much better...still not what I want it to be by any means...but better.
We took Leon back to the doctor today. The doctor said that the fever is good because it means he's fighting off the infection and that even a high fever won't hurt him...obviously as we all know...as long as it COMES DOWN! His is coming down...but sometimes, it's not coming down very far. She swears by ibuprofen for fevers, but it just doesn't seem to work wonders for Leon much...Tylenol works better...don't get me wrong...I'm trying, but it's just not working as well. They did a chest x-ray to make sure he didn't have pneumonia...and he doesn't. She wanted to make sure that if he did have it she wanted to make sure she switched the antibiotic because obviously...it wasn't working...but he doesn't, so everything is staying the same for now. So...I've been off of work most of the week. I'm going back tomorrow for one day and Skip is staying hoem with him. At least it's Friday I guess...I just want to be home with my sick child so bad...but I also know I have to go to work as well. It's kind of a toss up...depending on what's wrong I guess for which one of us stays home. Since his fever was 105...I wanted to stay home with him to make sure it didn't spike up again...but since he's doing better, it's not as big of a deal...it's just hard for me to leave him when I know he's not feeling well. I came back from taking the cat to the vet today and he wanted to climb on me and just lay down on my chest and relax...that's when I realized his fever had gone back up again...but we were able to get it down by bedtime and it's still down right now...so we can hope I guess! Maybe it's starting to go away on it's own. I'm being hopeful anyway!
