Illness

Well, this time it isn't Leon it's me! I woke up Sunday morning with a really bad runny nose and sneezing like crazy. Then Monday morning I woke up and felt absolutely horrible! I called into work and told them I wasn't feeling well and would not be in. I took Leon to daycare and then came back home and slept all day except for about 3 hours. I took some Dayquil because my head was just pounding...along with some body aches, but for the most part it was just my head...because of the Dayquil really. I thought I had a sinus infection so I called the doctor and they got me in at 3:50. I went to the doctor and found out...it was a big fat NO on the sinus infection. Instead I have the flu! Yes...the first time I've ever gotten it! Leon has had his flu shot this year so hopefully he doesn't get it. Skip is feeling great as usual...he's hardly ever sick. I got a prescription called Tamiflu which is working wonders. It only works in the first 2 days that you have it though. They have a test and everything now to test for flu. I had no clue! I went to drop off the prescription and picked Leon up from daycare while Skip stayed home with the maintenance people working on our window that's been leaking for about 6-7 months now. It had stopped but started again last week. They actually sent out contractors because the entire dry wall will have to be replaced! So, needless to say I haven't spent much time "with" Leon the last couple of days. The doctor said I'm contageous until my fever breaks but I'm not allowed to go back to work until Thursday. Today I got Leon up fed him breakfast, took a shower and then took him to daycare. I came home and watched t.v. for about an hour and then slept the rest of the day until Skip called to tell me he was on his way home. Then I got up again and have been up since but I'm about ready to fall over! Tomorrow I'm going to try my best to stay up since I know I will be back to work on Thursday. My fever has broke, my headache and body aches are gone, but now I have this horrible cough...sounds almost like a smoker's cough or something! I think one more day of rest will really help me. I'm glad I have somewhere for Leon to go when I'm sick like this though. It's really nice. So, that is the news in our house for now! Leon goes to the doctor on Thursday too for his 15 month checkup! I think he gets 2 shots...but I'm not sure. I'll be giving him some Tylenol before we go anyway.

Tonight he was trying to pull up on the door to the coat closet and slipped. We aren't really sure what he hit because nothing on him was red or anything but boy did he scream like someone really hurt him! I held him for a little bit while Skip got him a sippy cup of cold water...that way if it was his mouth at least the coldness would feel good on it. Skip thinks he may have hit his nose...but nothing was red or swollen or anything. I gave him some Motrin just in case...that way maybe it won't start hurting. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow if he actually hit anything! That's just what I need...a kid with a big bruise on him for the doctor on Thursday! I think he's fine though. It probably just scared him. I'll update more after his doctor's appointment on Thursday!!!!!
