Fevers Suck

...BIG TIME! I am starting to come to a loss on what may be wrong with Leon. His fever just keeps going up and up it seems like every time the Tylenol wears off! At dinner last night, his fever was 104. I gave him Tylenol and gave him a cool bath and everything. I checked him again at 11 and it was fine. Below normal actually...97. something...don't remember what. I went ahead and gave him some Tylenol though because I knew it would be coming back. I went in at 3:30 to check him only 4 1/2 hours later...and it was 105! I again gave him Tylenol and a bath. I called the on call nurse and she said that as long as it's going down he's ok for tonight, but to call the doctor first thing in the morning. Wednesdays are their late days so they don't even open until 10 but he's been getting up around 10 so I guess it's not too big of a deal really. I'll be checking him every 3 1/2 hours now probably so that I know if he'll need more Tylenol right away. I don't have a clue what would make him run a fever that high though. My sister ran fevers that high at about his age, but she had kidney problems. They are resolved now, and I really don't know the details as to what was wrong, but still...she ran high fevers. I know Skip use to run higher fevers too, but I don't know why or if they really knew why. So, I'll be calling the doctor again first thing in the morning and seeing what they say. I'm sure she'll want to see him again though. Who knows...maybe he'll be going for tests or to a specialist or something if she thinks something may be wrong. I know he's on the Amoxicillan so that should have taken care of any bacterial infection he could possibly have and his fever should not be up there like that...so I know it's something viral or something else...but I just don't know what. It's starting to really bother me. I've been on edge since dinner time...not knowing what it's going to do next. Poor baby...hopefully he gets better soon!

I've already called in to work today. I called in and left a message on our voicemail general box telling them that he is running a fever of 105 and I won't be in because he's going to need to go back to the doctor...because obviously...something is wrong...we just don't know what yet! Wish us luck!

105? That's really scary! I hope you find out what's going on and that it goes away quickly. Take care!
