Swallow Study

Noah had his swallow study done on Wednesday at Riley Hospital. It went ok, he has definitely improved over the last one that was done on October 31st. He is still aspirating some, but not near as bad as before. We also used a regular bottle this time as opposed to the Haberman the last time. So, he's getting a faster flow than what he's been practicing with. He is still allowed to have 5ml through a bottle, twice a day. We have the follow up on Tuesday with First Steps and will find out then what kind of therapy he will be receiving for sure and how often, etc. We will also choose a therapist. (I'm assuming he is going to qualify, they said most babies with feeding tubes they automatically take so they can get them off of them as soon as possible.) He goes back in January for another swallow study (not sure of the date yet, I have to call Monday) He will follow up with the developmental pediatrician in 4 months as well.

He weighed in at 10 lbs 8 oz yesterday at his nursing visit. He's doing well though. He's overall a happy baby and still sleeps a lot. He likes to watch t.v. and talk. Leon still just adores him. He's starting to get away from the "I want to help stage" but he still does occasionally. He knows that I can't drop everything every time he wants me to do something now, especially when I'm feeding Noah. That takes some time. He's doing well with the adjustment though.
