Growing Up!!

I can't believe my baby boy is going to be 2 years old in 7 days!!!! Boy how time flies by! He is so funny and yet so much fun to be around. He is so smart too. He can identify red, blue, and green about 90% of the time. He can identify yellow, orange, and purple a little less than that. The education he is getting at daycare is absolutely remarkable! He will repeat his abc's after you but won't just start singing the song. He will count to ten repeating in English AND Spanish but again, won't just start saying them. He does know that 2 comes after 1 but that is as far as that goes right now. He will repeat anything you ask him to. He is in Gymboree and they did their shapes and colors one day and he was the only one in the class that would repeat the shapes and colors...AND pick them out correctly, and he's the youngest one in his class. I was impressed when the Gymboree teacher told me that. (They have a representative from Gymboree come to daycare and do it once a week) Everyday he is doing something new. Just last night he would drop something or something wouldn't go "right" according to him and he would say, "Oh Gosh." It is SOOOOOO incredibly cute when he says it too. He amazes me with his vocabulary day by day.
Potty training is coming along nicely. I have to say he is doing EXTREMELY well at this. For 1, he will tell me when he has to go when he is in underwear, but he won't when he is in a pullup. He will pull his pants down when he has to go sometimes, and he knows that you are suppose to flush the potty and wash your hands afterwards too...trust me, he NEVER lets me forget this one! Tomorrow will be his first day at daycare in big boy undies. I'm a little nervous but yet excited about this one. I'm doing it because today he was eating lunch and says, "mommy, pee pee." So, I took him to the bathroom and let him sit in there for a little while and came back to get him ready to finish eating lunch and he had pooped in the potty. I was so blown away! Last weekend he only had 1 accident at home. We haven't attempted the underwear outside of home yet...so tomorrow will be a first for that! When he is at home he doesn't wear anything but underwear unless it is nap time or bedtime. I'm trying it at daycare tomorrow to see if he is just "potty trained at home" or if he will actually "tell" them that he has to go when he's at daycare. We will try it and go from there I guess. It won't take long to see if he's not ready. I'm nervous yet excited.
His birthday party is on Sunday so I should have quite a few pictures to post for that. His birthday theme is Diego and I think everything is just about ready to go. I have to get one more thing at the store but other than that, the cake is ordered and everything is ready to go. We bought him a kitchen set and a little doctor kit along with a game for his Leap Frog that teaches colors, counting, and abc's. Hopefully I can get him to sit down long enough to understand how it works. :) It's a plan anyway!

Wow! I can't believe he is going to be 2 already! It is a fun age, isn't it?! It just gets better.
I can't believe how far along you are on potty training! Impressive!
It's been awhile since I've last commented. I'm glad to hear things are going great!
