I can't believe that Leon will be 2 years old in exactly 2 months from Friday! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He is blossoming into a child day by day...he still has some toddler in him though! He now repeats everything you say and can say pretty much anything. He is putting 2 and sometimes 3 words together. He just started saying mommy and daddy...mainly mommy...dad is still what he says mostly...but he does say daddy. He still gets yes and no mixed up, along with on and off, and some of those basic things...but that will come with time. I explain it to him...but then have to re-explain it the next time he starts saying stuff. I don't think he's behind in any area anymore. He's walking great, practically runs. He can catch a ball sometimes when you toss one to him. He is just always on the go! He never wants to sit still anymore...but I wouldn't either with all that he has to see everyday!

The biggest thing we are working on now is potty training!!! I can't believe it myself really. About a month ago, he started showing signs that he was ready. He pulls at his diaper, wanted to sit on the potty etc. So, we went out and bought a potty chair. Silly mom didn't even think...if its that close to the ground, he may not want to sit on it as easy as the big potty...so we bought one of the seat cushions to put in the big potty. He sits on it MUCH better! The first time he ever sat on the potty chair, he peed on it. It was random since then...but just this week, he has been drier in his diapers and peeing on the big potty a few times a day when I sit him on it. Today he went from 1:30 until 4 I think completely dry and only peed once on the potty in between those times. Today, I went to buy him some underwear. (quite a few actually...there are tons of "accidents" in our future!) I have washed them and in the next week we will start with those. After he was wet around 4, I changed him into a pull up and he was dry until we got home from dinner around 8! He never went on the potty, but when we got home and I was getting him out of the carseat, he started messing with his shorts and saying, "potty." So, I grabbed him out of the car seat and ran inside, just to find out he JUST went! The pullup was warm and everything. I don't think it'll be as hard as I expected with him to potty train...but we'll see...everything may turn around in the future too!

I think that is the biggest news I have to report now. It seems a little early, but his pediatrician said if he's showing signs...jump on it...he'll let us know if he's not ready yet.
For our anniversary in July, we took a "family" trip to French Lick to get away. It was a very nice relaxing weekend. These are only a few of the many pictures we took. Leon did really well in the hotel. There was plenty to keep him busy that's for sure! He had more fun running around in the hotel room flushing the toilet all day I think! The weekend after we went to French Lick we went to the Newport Aquarium in Newport Kentucky. That was a lot of fun too...it took us a while to get back because my friend who went with us had car trouble...so we were delayed a couple hours, but it all turned out ok...or at least it will in the end. Her car is still being repaired. I think that is all the "news" I have for now...enjoy the pictures!
